Volunteer Positions Have Immeadiate Openings

Eligibility: 

Persons over the age of 18 are eligible to participate in departmental activities including but not limited to interior firefighting, driving trucks, and special operations. You will be properly trained and certified to participate in these activities.

 The need for Volunteers:

 Have you ever wondered what itís like to be a firefighter?

Have you ever wanted to volunteer in your community?

From saving someone trapped in a structure fire, extricating a victim out of a wrecked vehicle, our performing life saving CPR to someone, If so Caddo Parish Fire District 6 has a position for you.

  If firefighting and Emergency Medical Services are not for you and you still want to participate, there are numerous support functions available to those interested.

 Training:

 Not a trained firefighter?

No problem!

Caddo Parish Fire District 6 provides training classes in every aspect of the fire service. After becoming a member of the department, new recruits can participate in departmental training, as long as prerequsites have been meet. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to come to central station when available to train and answer emergency calls with staff firefighters. Although it is not required volunteers can become certified firefighters by taking an approved Firefighter course and an accredited certification exam administred through LSU Fire & Emergency Training Institute.

Volunteers may also participate in other training related to the fire service such as, medical training, special operations training ex: hazardous materials, rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, vehicle extrication, structural collapse, swift water rescue and dive training. 

How May I Sign Up:

To become a member you can fill out a membership form provided at our central station. All applications must be approved before admittance to the department. Once approved you will be contacted to begin your orientation with the department. If you have any questions please contact the department at 318-925-8791 Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
